God and Man
There were 4 ways that God has dealt with mankind, and they are:
1. Perfect age: God created man and breathed His spirit into man, and walked and talked with mankind daily in the Garden of Eden. Man did not know good and evil, but was innocent.
2. Age of Grace: Man sinned and gave this world to the Devil. Man’s spirit was no longer of God, but was a spirit of evil and sin. God still walked and talked to mankind directly, but also judged man for his sins, but gave grace to him.
3. Age of the Law: Mankind grew so evil and corrupt that God saw He had to do something to combat sin, so He gave Moses the Law and commandments. God then judged man’s sins, and no longer granted them any of His grace or forgiveness. This age was to show mankind that they needed a Savior.
4. Age of Redemption: This age is one of Grace and forgiveness. Commonly this age is called the church age that we now live in. This is the age brought in by Jesus and through His death, He atoned for ALL our sins. God now deals with us by seeing us as holy and perfect as He is, as we have the Spirit of God again living on the inside of us, if we have been born again and accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God’s judgment will only be upon those who don’t accept Jesus as their Savior.
Since we, who are saved, are now under the Grace of God, He no longer EVER punishes us for our sins, as He punished His own Son Jesus, who bore the sins of the whole world, so we don’t have to be punished for our sins. This means that God NEVER puts sickness, diseases, or infirmities of any kind on us, and NEVER causes us to die before our allotted 70 plus years. As God’s Word says, if it is good it comes from God, and if it is bad it is of the devil. Sin and sickness are all bad and sickness and early death comes from the devil, or this corrupted world, and NEVER from God. GOD IS LOVE. If you can get these truths into your heart, you will never blame God for anything bad.
Jesus also died to give us health and cure our sicknesses, as “by His stripes we were healed”. He has given us all the power of the God Head to live in us, and yet the religious churches have been lead by the devil to combine the old law with the new grace of God, and make us feel we have to live up to God’s standards to be right with Him. Jesus did that for us. We only have to believe in Jesus to be right with God. The age of the Law has been annulled and is no longer in effect at all. Just believe in Jesus as your Savior, and you will want to live holy for God, but never condemned if you don’t.
That is a brief over view of the relationship between God and mankind, and it is what the “Good News” is all about as it is the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the bible teaches it. The doctrines and rules of mankind have distorted the true Gospel of Jesus, but the truth lies in the Word of God, the Holy Bible. Many beliefs such as “our days are numbered”, “you must live holy for God to bless you”, “God will not answer your prayers if you don’t live holy”, “ you must tithe and go to church or you won’t be blessed”, “God can not use a dirty vessel”, “you must get your sins under the blood”, “God put the sickness on you to teach you something”, etc., are not biblical, and do not apply to the Christian that has been born again in this church age.
Law – Grace
(Comments are italicized)
1. Law: The law was given by God through Moses to convict the Jews of their sins and to convince them of their need of a Savior. The law, as the bible uses the word, includes the 10 commandments as well as all the rules and rituals as given to Moses by God. The law was not even intended for the gentiles. The law requires mankind to try and justify ourselves by our actions:
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Romans 3:19 (KJV)
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Romans 2:14 (KJV)
Those people who are under the law, (which in this church age is all those who have not made Jesus their Savior), have to keep the whole law to be saved, which is impossible for man:
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10 (KJV)
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:10 (KJV)
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 (KJV)
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 (KJV)
As seen by the scriptures above, it is impossible for mankind to be justified in the sight of a Holy God, by the keeping of the law. The only one ever able to keep the whole law was Jesus Christ.
2. Grace: Now that Jesus has come and brought Grace to us, the law has been done away with. We are no longer judged by our actions, but all our sins have been placed upon Jesus, and we, who believe, have been given the very spirit of Christ to live within us, making us the righteousness of God himself, so that when He looks upon us, spirit to spirit, He sees us as righteous and holy as Jesus Christ was:
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Romans 3:21-22 (KJV)
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:24 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:8 (KJV)
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Romans 3:28 (KJV)
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:14-16 (KJV)
3. Redeemed: We have been redeemed from the law by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and we, who are saved, do not have to follow all the rules and commandments of the Old Testament law:
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Gal 3:13 (KJV)
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb 9:12 (KJV)
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Heb 10:17 (KJV)
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2 (KJV)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:8-9 (KJV)
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal 2:16 (KJV)
Notice in the third scripture above, Heb 10:17 (KJV), God says He will remember our sins no more. Under the Grace of God, sin has been done away with, and God does not even keep up with our sins. It must be noted that we cannot mix living under Grace and under the law:
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11:6 (KJV)
The above scripture is wordy, but it is just saying that you have to live under the law or under Grace, but not mix the two. Most churches have mixed the two, and say you are saved by Grace, but you have to do all the rituals of tithing, going to church, etc. to be right with God, or to be blessed by God. That is not what the bible teaches. God’s Word tells us that man will do this:
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Mark 7:13 (KJV)
Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Matt 15:6 (KJV)
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; Romans 3:4 (KJV)
Conclusion: We who are saved are no longer REQUIRED to abide by the law, but we are redeemed from it by the Grace of God through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Does this mean we are free to sin, God forbid, as to whom we yield ourselves to obey, the devil unto death, or God unto righteousness is what we will reap. If we are saved and do sin, God will not condemn us for the sin, and will still love us unconditionally, but when we sin we open the door to the devil, and he will come at us with sickness, trials and even death. The devil is the author of everything evil. If it is good it is from God, and if it is bad it is from the devil. So, if we have truly been saved, and know the love and grace of God, how can we live in sin? The love of God will lead us into righteousness far better then the fear and condemnation of God ever would.
